About

aboutjojoRenowned as a bubbly character amongst her counterparts, Jo-Jo is an arm amputee and swims in the disability swimming classes, S9, SB8 and SM9. Her club Rochford and District have supported her throughout her career but Millfield School is the added boost Jo-Jo needs to succeed, and hopefully secure her a place for the Paralympic Games in 2012. The student has been part of the British Swimming World Class Pathway Development Squad, showing her potential for international success.

Jo-Jo has already represented Great Britain on two different occasions at the Danish Open in Esjberg, Denmark once in 2008 Winning Silver Medal’s for 200m Freestyle & 100m Butterfly, and Bronze Medals for 50m Butterfly & 400m Freestyle and won a Bronze Medal in the 100m Butterfly in 2007.

Also in 2008 she proved her dedication to swimming, when she delayed an operation to amend her heel bone, so that she could compete in the UK School Games. Despite being in extreme pain, she still won Gold in the 100m Freestyle, as well as Silver in the 100m Butterfly. She has also been consistently top of her class in the junior events, competing at Disability Sport Events National Junior Championships for the past few years.

To attend Millfield School and improve her talent, Jo-Jo is offering companies or individuals the chance to sponsor her over three years and watch her achieve greater things due to their help. She says:

“I’ve dreamt of this for the last few years and now it’s a reality, I really need support. Swimming is my life and Millfield will give me the opportunities I need to succeed. If any company or kind people can help me, I promise to pay them back in medals and satisfaction they have supported a star.”

If you are interested in helping this future star, please contact Tina Cranfield on 01702 334056 or 07719 624905 to talk about the endless benefits of sponsoring Jo-Jo.
